If you have already entered your 1099-MISC and this is for self-employment business expenses, you can use the steps here below to get to the section to enter those expenses. You will need to be in TurboTax Self-Employed online version for this.

Just make sure that you to enter all of your 1099-MISC1099-K, cash, and personal check income from your self-employment before you associate any expenses with your business.

You can enter your vehicle mileage, home office expenses, and other common business expenses, by following the steps here below:

  • Log into your account and click orange Take me to my return button
  • Type Schedule C in the Search box in top right corner
  • Choose jump to Schedule C and select Add expenses for this work (or Edit and scroll down until you see Business Expenses)

NOTE: If you’re not self-employed, but a W-2 employee instead, follow these links for the employee home office deduction and job-related employee expenses.
