Could this also have been a problem on my 2021 return? I mailed that return and never got my refund even though I contacted the IRS by phone and through the IRS website.
I just got same reply about self selected PIN from last year when my return was rejected thi s year. I had to go to IRS website using IDme and have a new PIN assigned for this year. Then I went into Turbotax and input that new number and again e-filed my return.
I mailed my return last year and have mail confirmation that the IRS received it. I have the PIN for my 2022 return. are you suggesting that I file my 2021 return electronically?
ENTER 0 FOR AGI. The IRS took a long time last year to process 2021 returns so the AGI didn't get entered in time. Especially if you mailed it. That works for most people. See,

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
