I called the Help Line as suggested. The suggestion was that the disk was defective and to take it back to the store. Staples in my case. I went to an entirely new store 100 miles away from where i originally bought the software. They were very courteous, and I was able to get a new package of the Home and Business version. I asked if they had been seeing these disks come back defective. They said they had not and had sold many of them, so I took a shot and bought another disk. This disk did not work either. Same result. MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll are not found and the setup doesn't run. The only other suggestion they had was to download that version from them directly. If that option was realistic, given my slow internet speed way out here in the middle of nowhere, I wouldn't be buying the disk now would I. There is obviously a major flaw in the Home and Business version of the disk no matter where you buy it that they have not recognized yet. We will have to make a stink to get them to recognize the issue and stop inconveniencing long term customer like myself and others.
@Matt_72 Use the download method instead of the CD. It has more advantages over the CD and will be the current updated version and may fix installing errors the CD has. Then you can also download it another computer or if you need to reinstall it. Or just buy the Download from Turbo Tax or Costco etc.
There should be a card in the CD case or on the CD envelope that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.

By the way. I am running Windows 10 Pro build 22H2 and it is up to date to the release that just came out for Jan 2024
@Matt_72 , see my post above for the link to obtain the missing x86 version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package that the TurboTax developers neglected to include on the installation disk. Install that package before reattempting installation with the CD.
You didn't read my reply at all did you? I just spent the last three hours trying to download. It timed out because I can't download it fast enough with my terrible connection. I need the disk to work! I need the disk I paid for! I also spent an hour going to and from the store to get a new disk. You are not delivering the product in a form I paid for and have every reason to expect it to work. I have used this software successfully and happily bought it year after year with no issues for 10 years now. Right now, and with many others I suspect, you are failing, and I am about to go elsewhere for my needs. FIX THIS.
Sorry over thought it. I have an 64bit system. When I went to your link, i went through the process of removing and installing the x64 files at the link. Since you insisted, I went back there and loaded the x86 files. Wroking like a champ. Please push your suggetion to the technical help folks. Hopefully this thread will also help. Sorry again for my frustrated rant.

I get the MSVCP140 and VCRUNTIME140.dll message and hang up when trying to download it which is why I bought the disk. Long time user but really unhappy with the product this year.
CD will not load due too message MSVCP.dll message on screen.

I have used Turbotax for many years. I purchased the program and this year \i could not load because \i had Windows 10 32 bit which always worked in the past. I have a new computer with Windows 11 Pro. With TurboTax disk in drive, it will not load program and gave the message above

Not sure why Turbotax is making products like this, got similar problem for Tubotax premier 2023 this year. I am long time customer I never had issues with CDs installation until last year (TY-2022) with the same computer. Turbotax should thoroughly test technically before releasing products. hhmmmmm
I know there are tech-fixes on web, but - why does any one go for those tech fixes when spending $100+ bucks genuinely?
Not acceptable for legit buyers.
