Just installed Desktop 2021: strange behavior

I just installed Turbo Tax DeLuxe desktop and started my 2021 return. If I double click on the return TurboTax opens but the return does not. All I see is the menubar. If I use it with "Open Recent" my return is visible in the list but nothing happens. But if I use "Open tax return" and select my return it opens. If I click on the application my return opens. What is going on? Makes me wonder if there will be more problems.

Make sure you saved it properly. Always use "Open tax return" 

I have not experienced any problems, and just completed my taxes.

Thanks, but in all prior years double clicking on the return worked, so I'm wondering if something is messed up.

You may want to make sure that your recently installed software is updated to the latest version. Please see the below help article for assistance with this.

Sorry. this is not helpful. Every time I open TurboTax it checks for updates. "Get information" on the return shows that it should be opened with the application, but when I double click on the return it does not open. OTOH if I open the application it opens the return.

Thanks. I uninstalled including all the Mac Library files listed here https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/installing/help/remove-uninstall-turbotax-for-mac/00/26050

and re-installed and it seems OK now.
