You should have received the license code when you made the software purchase.

Thank you. I called the store because I did not receive a confirmation code from Staples. The cashier did not exchange the display package for the package with the confirmation code, so I will return to the store for it.

I don’t think the 16 digit License Code will be on the receipt unless you bought it online and the confirmation email should have it.

If you got TurboTax Desktop from an authorized retailer, your license code is printed on the front of the box insert. If you got TurboTax Desktop directly from TurboTax.com, your license code is printed on the packing slip. The license code is 16 digits, as @VolvoGirl stated.

no i bought it at the store but there was nothing on the carton
At some stores like Costco and Sam’s after you pay for it you need to go to the customer service pickup window the get the actual package with the License Code. Take the receipt and cardboard back to the store.
