How do I access the 2018 program? The IRS is questioning one of our entries and I need to see the 2018 program to see how we got to the numbers on the tax forms.

  You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

 

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN !

 

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state.

TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support.   At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support".  Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter.  Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.

If you are not getting what you need on the PDF with all the worksheets and want to see the data entry screens then download and install the amendment program to open the .taxfile  ... but do NOT make any changes.
