How can I remove form 8862. I am not eligible for EIC yet TT says that I am and it is formulating this form which keeps getting my return rejected.

I am not eligible for EIC because I am 63. Can I get this removed?

You can still be eligible for EIC up until you turn 65.

Once you are sure you don't need this form, you can delete it.

If you are using:

  • TurboTax Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?
  • TurboTax Desktop:
    1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
    2. Click on FORMS.
    3. Locate the form you want to delete.
    4. Click on the form name.
    5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.

Claim your earned income credit. As pointed out, you are eligible for it if under age 65.

@littletaff20    I think we're missing the problem.   It shouldn't be rejecting for the EIC.   What is the exact reject error message or code?  A common reject is for the wrong AGI.

Try entering 0 for the AGI. The IRS might have processed your return later so the AGI didn't get entered in time.  Especially if you mailed it.  That works for most people. See,

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
