Form 1116 AMT error

Hello,

There is a bug in Form 1116 AMT (Desktop version for Mac).

Part IV, Line 33 is incorrect.  This value should be the smaller of Line 20 or Line 32.

Instead, Line 33 is incorrectly picking up Line 27 (for Passive Income only).

This results in an incorrect calculation of my AMT.

I have submitted a sanitised version of my tax return and have a token code.  I am happy to provide you with the token code if you need it.

Please have this bug fixed ASAP as I cannot efile with an error.

Thank you.

Another user has reported this same problem and we submitted this to our investigation team to look into it.

    Hi Dave,

I live abroad and have several friends who have the exact same issue.  Turbotax Desktop Home and Business is calculating a huge amount of AMT that we do not owe.

I spent 90 minutes on the phone with TT yesterday with a product expert, but she could not help.  I then paid $60 for Live Assist and requested a call back.  Unfortunately, TT cannot call international numbers.  So I am stuck.

I have pinpointed the exact line number on Form 1116 AMT where there is a glitch.

There must be thousands of taxpayers living abroad who will benefit from a prompt solution.

Please help us with this issue.

    Thank you.

    I'm seeing the same issue!

Individuals: Enter the total of Form 1040, 1040-SR, or 1040-NR, line 16, and Schedule 2 (Form 1040),

    line 1z.

The amount that is carried over here DOES NOT match the amount on 1040, line 16. It's a fraction of the amount. This is causing my AMT FTC to be much lower - and thus, causing an AMT bill.

    Please fix!
