Missouri print return doesn't have 2D barcode

In past years, my Missouri return had a 2D barcode at the top right. This year, it printed out with no 2D barcode at the top right. I did notice another post that says that Missouri has different PO boxes for returns with and without 2D barcodes. Mine says to mail to PO Box 329, Jefferson City, MO, which that other post says is the address for returns without 2D barcodes that owe money (I do). Why does my return not have a 2D barcode??

The 2-D barcode allows your return to be processed with fewer errors compared to traditional paper returns. Unfortunately if your return does not have the 2-D barcode it will be processed normally. See 2-D Barcode Forms.

I get that. But why is TurboTax generating a return without a 2D barcode? After preparing all that data, it seems a waste to NOT generate a 2D barcode for the benefit of the state's data entry... Is it because of a certain question, certain deduction, etc.? Is it because I owe instead of getting a refund?
