Did you import your 1099-R? This sometimes happens if you do an import.

    Try this:

    1. Go to Tax Tools > Tools > Delete a Form. Find the 1099-R with the error and delete it.
    2. Go back to the 1099-R section and select "I'll type it in myself."
    3. When you get to Box 9a, do not touch it. Do not enter a 0, a space, or a %. If you leave it completely untouched during a manual entry, TurboTax usually lets you pass without an error.
