I am once again attempting to e-file my taxes.  I continue to get the error indicating I need to fix the UTAH ID number from box 15 on the W2.  I have tried all of the suggesitons to fix it and nothing fixes the error.  Why is this such a problem?

EINs are limited to 9 digits.  Try using the EIN from the Federal portion of the W-2.  If that does not work then use the Troubleshooting help below.

Since you have tried several times to clear the error close your TurboTax,

then clear your Cache and Cookies.

Your browser stores recently visited webpages as temporary files in a cache, which enables the pages to load more quickly when revisited.

However, a full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, so sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files).

Instructions for the most popular browsers are in the link below:

    To clear your cache

If this does not correct your issue you may want to delete your state return as follows:

    1. Sign in and open a section of your return.
    2. From the menu, select State and then select Continue on the Let's get your state taxes done right screen.
    3. On the Status of your state returns screen, select Delete next to your state, then answer Yes.

To add your State again please click on the link below for instructions:

    How to add a State

    1. Sign in to TurboTax.
    2. Now select Add a state (this reopens your return) ...
    3. Select State from the left menu.
    4. On the Let's get your state taxes done right screen, select Continue and follow the instructions.

Try deleting the number in box 15, and make the box blank.

    Continue to the next page.

Then use the Back selection to get back to the form page with box 15 on it.

Then retype the 14 digit+character number carefully, AND make sure the final three letters are:

    lower case  wth
