The previous tax year we had to claim a 1099 MISC for settlement income.  We did NOT receive that income this year.  Deleted that 1099 during the answer portion.  However it is still showing up under ( z 12 ) and it is giving us an error that our other taxable income should have a value.  I cannot click into the form to delete that line.  Tried going back through all questions, deleting cookies etc.

This is caused by description entry from last year carrying forward to this year. The easiest solution would be to enter a zero when asked for the amount of other income, but that approach may still cause you problems in the future.

A better solution is to find the other income description and remove it:

  1. Select Federal on the left side menu.
  2. Select Income and Expenses.
  3. Expand/ scroll down the list and find the section called, Less Common Income.
  4. Scroll all the way down and select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C.
  5. Select Other reportable income.
  6. Answer the first question Yes.
  7. If you see a description entry here, click Delete to the right to remove it.
  8. Continue through the section until you find the entry from last year. Once it is removed, you can finish your tax return.
