I mailed a check for my 2018 property taxes in December 2018, but the checks were not cashed / posted on my account until early January 2019. Can I claim those taxes on my itemized deductions for 2019 as well as my 2019 taxes paid (and posted) in December of 2019?
nope. the year you put it in the mailbox is the year they're deductible. when the check cleared your a/c is irrelevant.
