Alabama RMD $6000 exemption

Turbotax for Alabama seems to not allow the $6000 per person for RMD Distributions. We are qualified. How do we get it?

The exemption is typically applied automatically based on your age and the source of income.

The deduction may not appear on the main summary page immediately. To find it, go to Tax Tools > Tools > View Tax Summary.

On the Alabama tax summary, look for the "Additional Deductions" line or Schedule 1-A.

In the actual forms (Form 40), the exemption is processed through Schedule RS, where Line 10 specifically asks if the taxpayer is 65+ to apply the $6,000 exclusion.
