Are you referring to an efile status of "pending?"

Did you efile, and are you now seeing a status of "pending" at your Tax Home in Online TurboTax?   If so, your efiled return will sit on TurboTax servers until the IRS opens to begin processing 2020 returns on February 12, 2021, except for a few returns the IRS pulls early for testing purposes.   On February 12 (or in the days following), you should find out if your return was accepted or rejected (unless you are among the few that are pulled early for testing.)

Once the IRS begins processing on February 12, the IRS says most people will get their refunds within 21 days from the time it is accepted if the return is efiled and direct deposit is chosen.    If you are subject to the PATH Act , i.e., if you qualify for EITC (Earned Income Credit) or ACTC (Additional Child Tax Credit), then the IRS cannot by law release a refund for returns with those credits until after February 15.  The IRS website says folks subject to the PATH Act may not see a Federal refund until the first week of March.

Why is my refund still pending?

If you are getting Earned Income Tax Credit they are not depositing those until the first week of March (starting today) even if you were approved for regular Federal you will get Federal and earn income tax together first week of March 2021, BUT if you get state that will be deposited separately!
