I have contact Intuit support and asked when I will be able to print but can't get a straight answer. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I do not currently see any outstanding forms for South Carolina e-file at this time. If you are using a downloaded or installed version of TurboTax, please go to the Online menu and check for updates.
If you are using the online version of TurboTax, please logout of the program, clear your browser cache and cookies (in browser settings or Ctrl+Shift+Delete in Chrome) and then restart your browser and see if that will clear this error for you.
If the error persists, please let us know so we can assist in further troubleshooting.
Susan, thank you for your response. To be clear, I was able to efile my SC return. What I am unable to do is print a copy of my return or save a copy of my return as a pdf so that I can look it over. The link you provided says that Form SC1040ES won't be ready for print until 3/7/2024. My SC return does have that form included.
I am using the desktop version of TurboTax Premiere and have all the current updates. See screenshots below.
I have Turbo Tax Premier which I purchased from Sam's Club. I successfully submitted my Federal tax return but I am unable to download, print, or file my South Carolina return. I get the error message "Your South Carolina return is currently unavailable to view, print, or download because some of the forms haven't been finalized yet:.
I followed someone else's recommendation and zeroed out the 1040ES forms. I was able to view, print, save, and transmit my return.
Received confirmation that SC accepted my tax return and cleared Cookies, etc but still unable to print or save.
Can you tell us the error message that you receive (if applicable) when you try to print or save your return? Also, are you working in online TurboTax through your browser or are you using an installed program on your computer?
SusanY1 -- the following is from a 2024 TT user that describes perfectly what I'm experiencing this year. I don't think it can be more clearly stated. The dates in red and underlined are due to this repost being from a duplicate issue from last year.
From Retired Beach Bum February 2024:
After I completed and E-filed both Federal & South Carolina tax returns on
February 5
, and they were accepted by each a few hours later, I am unable to Save/Print the South Carolina Tax Return. Only the2023
Federal Tax Return can be printed/saved.At the Print/Save Page it says, "Your South Carolina return(s) is currently unavailable to view, print, or download because some forms haven't been finalized yet."
When you click on the link = "Notify me when my forms are ready" you get "Sign Up For Email Notification." After you enter your email & confirm email, the following Error Message appears:
"Unable to load messageid No forms or products have been specified. Please close the window and try again. for en_US." I have tried multiple times over the last week, cleared cache blah blah blah - no fix.
Please Note: Both Federal & South Carolina Tax returns were e-filed, accepted, and Tax Payment from my bank was processed by South Carolina & Federal Return refund is scheduled. So, it appears the SC State Return was good enough with all necessary forms when e-filed.
"I Can't Do" what the previous person did and delete SC form as I encountered the problem when I went to save/print my returns AFTER I e-filed and both returns were accepted. No clearing cache or other basic remedial recommendations will work.
I need to have Turbo Tax fix this problem with a software update specifically for the South Carolina Tax Return so that I can print/save my SC return which will also be needed next year when I file for 2024.
I tried to be as specific and concise as possible. Please have someone address this issue. Thank you.
I have the same problem with Ohio. My Federal return was e_mailed and already accepted.
Same printing error notification happens in 2024 returns for SC when filing by mail. Forms not finalized. Will there be a SC software update in the next few days?
If you're using TurboTax Online, be sure to clear your Cache and Cookies before trying to Print your Ohio return for mailing.
Here's the Ohio forms that are available for Efile and Printing.
In the Print Center, save your returns as a PDF file to your computer, then print the pages for your Ohio return.
Here's more info on Filing Federal and State Returns Separately.
I am using Turbo Tax desktop and am filing a SC state return by mail-- not e-file. When printing the return it says Do Not Mail. Is Turbo tax sending a SC State update for this issue? Thank you-- same issue was reported last year based on the TurboTax community messages... Thank you
One reason that your state can't be efiled right now could be that your return could have a form that is not available for efiling right now. State and federal forms are released on different dates. You can visit the following TurboTax help article to see if any of your forms are currently unavailable.
If all your forms are available and you can check some of our common solutions. If your tax return can't be e-filed for some reason, TurboTax will let you know. If your issue continues, contact us again and give us more details.
Received the same today, 23Feb25:

As a possible work around, see this post in community from last year: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/state-taxes/discussion/successfully-printed-south-carolina-2023-income-tax-return/01/3196997#M156765
To save and/or print both Federal & SC state return after filing:
I'm getting this same message and it is now Feb 2025 ????
I have the same problem. I cannot print, see, or download the South Carolina tax return. It says I owe $33 but cannot even see the file. South Carolina says all forms are available and have been available! Don't know what to do. I have spent hours on the phone with intuit and they have no answer at all!!!
Did you see the work around?

To save and/or print both Federal & SC state return after filing:
I'm having the same issue. SC DOR says all forms are available so it must be a Turbo Tax issue. I can't get a straight answer, either.
This has NOT been fixed for tax year 2024. I had the same problem. I do not estimate my taxes each year. Instead, I adjust the federal and tax deductions on my 1099 income accounts (when necessary, usually not) to make sure I have had enough tax taken off so that none will be due. This year I had a very small amount due to SC due to some unexpected income and TurboTax would not allow me to either print or save as a pdf my return before e-filing. The fix is to go into your SC state return and edit the section dealing with 2025 estimated taxes. If TurboTax sees that an amount will be due for tax year 2025 based on your SC state tax prepayments made for 2024, it won't let you do any printing or saving to a pdf until it receives the final South Carolina form SC1040ES1 (1st quarter estimated SC tax) on March 6, 2025. However, if you either lower your income estimate for 2025, or raise your prepaid tax estimate for 2025, so that there will be no additional SC tax due for tax year 2025, then you can print or save your forms before transmitting, as it should be. However, the printing or saving as a pdf only worked when being in the Forms menu and selecting Print or Save As PDF from the dropdown menu there. The button to Print Your Forms within the final steps before online transmitting your taxes would still "hang up" even after making this change. My Federal and SC state forms did submit correctly and the forms which I saved as a pdf after making this change were correct. TurboTax really needs to fix this for the future. I called TurboTax tech support 4 times on this over a 2-week period and they were unable to tell me a workaround or solution.
