Switch from independent to dependent

Pretty self explanatory, but I messed up when I started my tax return. I can't seem to find the option anywhere to edit so I can switch back to dependent. Starting over is a last resort as I don't want to have to enter everything again. Thanks

OK, do this to say that you are being claimed on another's return:

Removing your exemption might increase your taxes.

1. On the Your Personal Info Summary screen, click Edit next to your name.
2. Click Continue on the Your Info screen.
3. On the screen Do any of these apply to you? check the box "Someone else can claim me on their tax return" and also select "Someone will claim me in 2016." Click Continue.
4. Keep going until you're back at the Your Personal Info Summary screen.

When your finished with your return, click File near the top and follow the onscreen instructions to e-file your return.
