Unable to remove document from the Documents tab

I am using the desktop version of Turbo Tax and I logged in to my online account to get some receipts for my e-filing. I saw a Documents section that has my W2 that I am not sure how it got there since I use the desktop.

The only available option is Download. How to delete from there. Thanks

I contacted support and they were unable to help. I explained to them that ai never uploaded any documents but they insisted that I must have done it.

I will call them again as I was able to duplicate the issue. The documents gets uploaded yo their site if you are using the desktop version and you select upload the W2 from your computer vs importing from the provider.

That is a security concern in my opinion. If I am importing into the desktop, why would it upload it to their site, there is a reason I am using the desktop version.

That is correct. This is the exact section.

I am questioning why importing documents to the desktop version would upload them to the Intuit Account document section? They said they have no way to delete it. I am considering deleting the entire account I have had for years at this point.

What is also surprising is if you upload document thru the online tax application, you are able to delete them and it organize them in folder based on the year you are selecting

Except that, with the recent changes in the way you verify your desktop copy (over the past few years)....I think you must have an Intuit account in order for the desktop software to work and be updated.

To all,

I too see Documents listed in my TurboTax account.

I have used TT Desktop version only.
Never did any of my taxes using TurboTax online.

There is no way to delete any of those older documents.

I went looking around in my Account. I don't have anything in the Document section but I don't import anything. I did see under Data & Privacy there is a Delete section. Maybe you can delete it from there?

Saw that.
It seems like if you delete your info you might be deleting your account.

Unless someone can further explain what is deleted there, I will leave it alone for now.

Very upset, it is storing my 1099-B form without giving any option to delete, this is serious issue and go agains the agreements of turbotax desktop.

@People- please upvote this thread

@Turbotax - please provide a delete option

I too have 1099s from this year on the documents page online on the intuit account page. If I use the left menu, overview and then documents, I get my 1099s with no way to delete them.
Instead if I select left menu, overview, then right menu, Quick actions, manage subscription, select turbo tax,
then Turbo tax online 2023 (I didn't do an online in 2023), tax returns and documents and now the same documents are available with the three dots, downloade, edit and delete.
