Rejected refund

I got an email saying my tax return was rejected due to a dependent already being claimed, is there anyway i can see which dependent because this shouldn't be.

Unless you keep filing and deleting a different dependent (process of elimination), you wont know which dependent is on another return. If you believe you have the right to claim all, you do not take that approach. You will have to print out the tax return and mail it in.

The IRS will then respond with a letter requesting documentation to verify who indeed gets to claim the child. Here is a link from the IRS site, with guidelines regarding this filing matter. identity theft
