Are you using the Premier desktop software (CD/download) for MAC?
I'm going to ask a SuperUser who uses a MAC to comment in this thread, but I'm not sure if it will be tonight or not.
In the meantime, can you please describe the method you are using to print, and have you tried more than one method? Have you tried to save a PDF, and then print from that PDF instead of printing from inside the program?
@ macuser_22 Are you able to assist with this MAC printing problem causing a TurboTax shutdown? Thanks.
I know of no reason that would happen.
I suggest restarting the Mac .
The print function is to print a pdf file. When printing you should get a print dialog window. The lower left has a button that says PDF. Choose to open on preview. Does that display correctly?
I've used the print function of going to the upper left under file and then print when I was trying to print the return. The software then closed. I selected "print return" on the review page and it also closed the software. I had also attempted to save as PDF, selected cloud desktop, but nothing saved so I could not print from that PDF. I think that means it does not display correctly. Thank you for involving a SuperUser and your other help
Do you get the print dialog screen and can you open with preview?
See my screenshot in an answer box (can't pit a screenshot in a comment)
Also try opening Applications -> Utilities -> Console
Look through the reports for anything that says TurboTax at the time that this happens (probably under User Reports). Or error messages when the Mac devices and all messages are selected.
There was nothing in user reports that references TurboTax. There was one in system reports from 2/24/18. I don’t understand anything I see at this level.
I can't get to that spot because it shuts down as soon as I select print and no dialogue box comes up
Unless you have a problem with the Mac itself I would suggest that you totally uninstall TurboTax and then reinstall it.
Corruption could have occurred in the Application or in an associated preference or support file. To uninstall the application and all associated files need to be deleted and then the application reinstalled. If there was a state then the state must also be reinstalled.

I removed every thing, reinstalled, and attempted to print forms from the software. It immediately shut down the program with no dialogue box appearing
Kindly try steps mentioned at below mentioned URL. It should help you to get rid of error message while printing Forms on Mac.
I am having a similar problem with Mac 2014 version of TurboTax. I've installed the patch twice now and get the message "There was a problem connecting to Intuit's Secure Print Service. Please check your Internet connection or try again later."
Please advise.
Unfortunately TurboTax only supports software for 3 years. 2014 is no longer supported and the print server is gone. (2014 was unique because 3rd party software was used in TurboTax for the print functions, but there was a licensing issue with that 3rd party and Apple, so to sell TurboTax in the Apple store, that 3rd party software was removed from the product and placed on a Intuit server. That applies to 2014 Mac only).
There is no way to print from a Mac for 2014. If you have access to a Windows PC you can install the software and transfer the .tax2014 data file and print.
I know nothing about "taxprinter". It is not connected to TurboTax in any way and I would be hesitant to recommend sending personal tax information to any 3rd party.
I am still having this same problem in Feb 2020 with the Turbo Tax 2019 Delux product. Running on MacBook Air, macOS Mojave 10.14.6
very frustrating
I have spoken with TurboTax support twice
@jmmaine12 I recommend calling telephone support again. Explain your situation and ask if you can transfer your return to TurboTax Online and print for free (they will need to give you a code to do this). You will find the contact number listed in the following FAQ: What is the TurboTax phone number? - Community

I had a problem printing too. I tried to print at the last screen before filing and it kept causing the software to crash. The print screen came up, but then didn't progress, and the software stopped responding - so I force quit. Then I just went ahead and filed. Then I tried to print after filing. It did the same thing at first (looked like it wasn't progressing), but the software didn't actually crash (didn't say "not responding" in the force quit app). It finally printed just took a while. Not sure what the issue was... wasn't able to review the pdf before filing, but was able to get it after filing.

Are you using a Mac? What problem are you having?
The last several years I've had this issue.
For me, the answer is that I switched data storage to the cloud and this was the disconnect. If I hit save as pdf, then chose the destination as something non-cloud ( I used the downloads folder) then it generated the pdf that you could drag out of downloads and print. Thanks to Apple support for the assist, it took both of us to figure it out, safe mode did not help.
