Okl, sure, so if you have already printed, signed, and mailed the Form 1040X and associated forms. After 3 weeks from the time it was mailed, you should be able to start tracking it at this link: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return

It can take up to 16 weeks for the IRS to process an amended return.

Why does everyone pretend that this time table is accurate or true? In my experience, it takes way more than 3 weeks before the amended return shows up in their system. For me, it's been 7 weeks and my amended return is still not even showing up as received (let alone processing) either in their online system or when I talk to a person on the phone. And I sent mine during a slow period (in August).
