I had called Mass Department Of Revenue to find out if I needed a Tax return document and I was told NO if I don't itemize.

State refund processing times vary based on how you filed. Electronically filed returns generally take up to 6 weeks and paper returns can take up to 10 weeks.

It's likely you haven't received your refund because:

  • It may still be in the process.
  • If you choose a paper check option, instead of direct deposit, a check could have been sent to an old address or lost in the mail.
  • Another reason could be that someone else used your information to claim a refund.

If you notice that any of those apply, I suggest you contact with Department of Revenue to verify if a return was processed. If they answer Yes, then report you haven't received yet.

Also, you should keep monitoring your refund directly from the Department of Revenue’s Website.

How do I track my state's refund?
