delete a 2nd 2022 return

I transferred my 2021 into the 2022 Premium software. After saving & inputting some info, I know have (2) 2022 tax return for myself. How do I eliminate one of those?

Are you using the desktop (CD/Download) version of Premier?

If so, delete the other .tax2022 file (and be careful not to delete the one you want to retain).

Where do you see 2 tax returns? Do they have different names? How did you end up with 2? I would leave them both and just change the name on the one you don't want (go up to FILE-SAVE AS) so you know it is old in case you need anything from it and so you don't delete the wrong one. Or save a backup copy in case you need it.

Does one of them start with a ~ sign? The ~ is a tilde file. Those are temporary files that you normally don't see and normally are deleted. But now Turbo Tax is leaving them in the folder in case something happens like if your file gets corrupted or lost or your computer crashes. Then you can go back. If you can't transfer from the regular file you can transfer from the ~ file.
