What's the difference between Full Audit Representation and Audit Defense?
Audits by the IRS can be random. Confidently handle an audit by the IRS with a representative who will represent you and communicate with the IRS on your behalf.
TurboTax®, in partnership with TaxAudit, will take care of:
Developing a plan of action
Following up with the IRS
Preparing IRS documents for you
Representing you in all IRS meetings
There are two versions of audit protection: Audit Defense and Full Audit Representation. The version you can purchase depends on your TurboTax product.
Audit Defense
Audit Defense is available to both TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop customers. To add it, TurboTax Online customers need to purchase the PLUS benefit—TurboTax Desktop customers can add it during the Review step.
Coverage under this option is time-limited. If purchased between January and April 15 - the coverage runs through April 30 of the following year. If purchased between April 16 and October 15, the coverage runs through October 30 of the following year.
Full Audit Representation
Full Audit Representation is available to TurboTax Online customers only and covers your return for as long as it can be audited. To add it, TurboTax Online customers need to purchase MAX benefits.
