If you or someone else accessed (got into) your TurboTax Account, you will get an email notification stating that you account had been accessed.

This entire process has left us wondering what has happened and how it happened and when it happened.  I'm sure you can provide us answers.  In fact, we may have accessed the 2019 tax returned several times as we were trying to figure out how to complete our Turbo Tax program.  Who ever reads this note probably thinks we're old people and not whiz bang computers geeks.  well we are old.  Thanks for your help.  Richard Teske

@terichard1024 Our system will automatically send you an email when your account has been logged into, or when a return is opened. If you logged into your TurboTax account and opened your return, then you accessed the information and therefore that is the reason for the email you received.
You can verify your account activity by following the steps in TurboTax FAQ: How can I check the activity in my TurboTax account?

How do I know who accessed my account

1)  You'll get that email every time you download your tax forms to your home computer.....so it could just be you downloading your own tax forms.

2)  Could also be someone else who downloaded their own forms, from their own account..but they mis-typed their own email address...and lucky you, are getting the notification because of their screw-up.

IF you are uncomfortable about this, log into your tax file....go down to the lower left corner to "Intuit Account" , and change your "UserID" and Password  (but write them down...next week, you'll try logging in to the old UserID and it won't work)

Unfortunately, we are not able to call you from Community as this is a public forum. You can check the activity in your account by following the steps in this TurboTax Help Article: How can I check the activity in my TurboTax account?

If you would like to speak to a TurboTax representative, please follow the instructions in this TurboTax FAQ:  What is the TurboTax phone number?
