Where is the search box in the Windows desktop? (Or, better still, where is the IP pin data entry point.)

https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/add-remove-6-digit-ip-pin/L1cz7f2zQ_US_en_US says -

TurboTax Desktop: Search for IP pin (don't forget the space) and select the Jump to link.

Ah, but where is the search box? I found a hidden search button that linked to the Digital Assistant, which is pretty worthless. But where is the search box for the app??

Alternatively, please tell me where the IP pin entry screen is in the Topic List.

When you click on SEARCH in the upper right you either get the Turbo Tax Digital Assistant or the Turbo Tax Help box depending if you are signed in. I have gotten the Jump to links using both ways. In the Desktop program you can sign in or sign out of your account under FILE on the top menu.

If you are signed in it will say Signed in as [name] under File. SEARCH will open the Digital Assistant like a chat box. Go to the bottom and type your search then click the send arrow on the right side.

If you are signed out, it will say Sign in under File. The SEARCH box will ask you to sign in. If you get a window asking you to sign in, don't sign in. Click the X in the top right corner to get rid of the sign in window. Then you will have the Search box where you enter your search at the top of the box.

To enter the 6 digit IP Pin in Home& Business

click on Personal then Other Tax Situations,
Then on Other Return Info - Identity protection pin Start

I have H&B too so I can make you screen shots.

First of all, thank you very much for both posts!!

Secondly, if you have a way to contact Intuit and suggest improvements, please pass along these two proposals:

A. Don't hide search behind a tiny button labeled "

►"

B.  Don't put the "Type or ask something" box at the bottom of the "TurboTax Help" popup. I suggest this because TurboTax Help opened up so big on my screen that the "Type or ask something" box was below the visible part of my screen. I had no idea it was there until I saw your graphic and started looking for it.

Oops, I didn't see this post until now. Thank you for this one as well.

Unfortunately, my desktop version doesn't have a SEARCH button. Instead, it's "

►". Very odd.

And, as I note in my first reply post (below), when I found search and opened it I didn't know that there was  a "Type or ask something" box below the bottom of my screen.

The immediately previous post relates to VolvoGirl's first post.

@Rich Belmont   Are you on Windows or Mac?   Can you post a screen shot of  the "

►" instead of Search?  Where is it?  I'm curious.  I can only get the magnifying glass & SEARCH

@Rich Belmont Are you looking at a compressed screen or do you full screen opened?  The "

►" only shows on a compressed screen.

@VolvoGirl & @DoninG, thank you both for following up.

Suggestion 1: I'm using Windows and I typically have TurboTax showing on about 5/6th of of my 17" screen (so I can switch back and forth to a data source). Is that compressed? It must be because the "Search" button shows up when I go to full screen. How about, instead of showing  "

►" when compressed it shows a magnifying glass?

Suggestion 2: Even when I'm on full screen the "Type or ask something" box does not appear in TurboTax Help because it is still below the viewing area. Maybe make the initial TurboTax Help box a bit shorter?

I had trouble finding it too.  This post helped.  In Federal go to Other Tax Situations.  Under Other Return Info there is a line for Indentity Protection Pin.  Hit the Start button, select the person with the pin and enter it.
