TurboTax program response lag

Hi,

 

I have used TurboTax for several years and found it a useful timesaver.  The 2021 edition seems to be less robust than previous years.

 

This year's program locks up after EVERY SINGLE line item entry on the W-2 forms.  I've timed that the program locks up (spinning circle, program greys out if clicked, Title bar says "Not Responding") for approximately one minute for each entry.  That means 20-30 minutes to enter each W-2.  I have over 10 W-2s, so that is 300 minutes or 5 hours of data entry.  The large majority of that time staring at the spinning little circle.  The activity should take maybe half an hour.

 

What is going on?  This lag is so excessive, it makes TurboTax unattractive as a tax processing option.  I will likely have to change to another vendor next year, as this lag makes an unpleasant activity nearly untenable.

 

One help article on this subject recommended deleting all executables from my Downloads location.  Why is TurboTax trying to run other programs' executables that have nothing to do with Intuit?

Please make sure the program is up to date and then do not run other programs or have open windows in your web browser at the same time.
