Turbotax 2021 - Chase Import Not Working

Trying to import 1099s from Chase Private Banking and I noticed two issues:

1) Chase Investments is not listed in the drop down (though the prompts ask you to select that option)

2) Chase Bank IS listed, however selecting it takes you to a screen that has Chase logo, but no place to enter userid/password.

Open a ticket [removed] but got an email immediately afterwards saying the ticket has been closed. Seriously? How could you close a genuine issue being reported WITHOUT a resolution? Turbotax SUCKS.

Stop removing TICKET #s from chats - these ARE NOT SSNs and DON'T NEED the protections from big brother.

Was also on the line twice with Chase the interface is not working. It going to Chase but not the right interface.

Chase is not showing failures. Looks like Turbo tax has the wrong address.

Trying to import 1099s from Chase Private Banking :

1) Chase Investments is not listed in the drop down option. Chase bank website is suggesting to use Chase investment

2) Chase Bank is listed, but can't sign on to Chase bank with the correct userid and password.

Some progress. Now it connects to Chase but still the userid password doesn’t work. Chase is putting their hands up asking to clear cache, use different browser etc. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Same issue here. Believe this is a TurboTax issue as the instruments from this Chase website aren't possible.

Please fix ASAP.

Called Chase to confirm that they are not seeing any of the login attempts coming from Turbotax/Intuit. So looks like TT/Intuit have totally messed this up by not opening up the interface to Chase fully to the point it is not even reaching their servers, let alone pull down the 1099s from there. What say you Intuit/TT?

Since Chase Investments is not listed on our Partner list, it would be best to download the 1099 to your computer, then follow the instructions here to import the 1099 into Turbo Tax.

If you need additional assistance, please comment and let us know.

The "Turbo Tax Partners" web page Partner List - Tax Import | Intuit shows "Chase Investments" as an import partner.  Intuit needs to fix their product immediately.  I hav e been given the run-around that an investigation has been requested, but nothing seems to happen.

Seriously is this the best "Expert" answer one can get? I have been using TurboTax for over a decade and have been able to import from Chase for the past 5 years without issues. When someone reports something does not work, I am not sure why Intuit doesn't spend any energy investigating/troubleshooting where the connection is broken rather than give out useless advise to "live with it"

Sorry CarissaM, that answer is unacceptable. Intuit needs to fix their backend software to work with Chase. Chase Investments is listed as a 1099 partner on this page (https://www.intuit.com/partners/fdp/implementation-support/tax-import/program-overview/partner-list/#1099/1098-partners

Carissa,

Chase only has more than 5,100 branches and 17,000 ATMs nationwide. JPMorgan Chase & Co. has 250,355 employees (as of 2016) and operates in more than 100 countries. The arguably largest bank in USA.

Chase Bank is on the download list that isn't working.

Why wouldn't the owner of Turbo tax and Quick Book want to ensure and test their interface to chase is working?

A better answer would be our development team is working with Chase to resolve the problem.

Clarissa,

This is completely unacceptable..

I have been downloading 1099 information from 'Chase Investments' using Turbotax over the past several years.. Please fix this issue otherwise several folks will stop using Turbotax.. that will be a shame for Intuit and the turbotax team.. Please don't let this happen..

Regards,

SG

I have spent 3 hours on the phone wit TurboTax support this afternoon.  Most of the time was someone I was forwarded to after I asked for a supervisor.

Instead of concentrating on why and how to fix selecting "Chase Investments" in TurboTax Premier 2021, the concentration was to try to discover some work around which didn't work either.

I was again informed that an investigation could not be identified, but one would be requested/initiated.

Intuit isn't doing much for their image.

Spoke with a specialist.. I was informed it was a known issue and folks are working on it.. Take it with a grain of salt! I was told there may have been an issue with Vanguard too but it may have been resolved?

Suggestion was to

1) Enter data manually (will not work for me as there are 100's of entries)

2) Try uninstalling and reinstalling Turbotax (it was a guess on the specialist's end - she admitted it)

Try getting a support ID  through the help menu (conversation bot ask for "talk to a person") and then call

[phone number removed]. Wait would be shorter. May be able to get a more definitive answer as to when this import issue rom Chase Investments may be resolved. If not soon, I will have to use some other tax prep package..

> "Since Chase Investments is not listed on our Partner list"

@CarissaM please do your research before replaying with invalid information

Chase Investments is listed on the partner list at https://www.intuit.com/partners/fdp/implementation-support/tax-import/program-overview/partner-list/#1099/1098-partners

The feature is clearly broken, please check internally and provide ETA when will the issue get addressed.

You know most places don't have the 1099 import files ready until late February.  The pdf form you see online is not the file that is imported.  They have to make the import file available to Turbo Tax.  Import files always take longer.

When can you import a 1099?

When will I be able to import my 1099?

The date imports were going to o be available was yesterday. Chase has had the pdfs available for a week now.

@VolvoGirl That's a fair point. In case you are right, Turbotax should display the "Chase Investments" option in the list and display dates when will the import become available. They do the same already for a range of other 1099-* integrations.

Update:  Intuit Investigation No. is INV-1812

1) Online version of TurboTax does import data from Chase just fine (you have to select "Chase Bank" as there is no option to select "Chase Investments"). I verified that it pulls the information correctly.

2) Desktop version is still broken. Intuit acknowledges this issue and they are "diligently working to address"

I'm so sorry to hear that you’re experiencing these issues. This sounds like a frustrating situation, and I want to help. I have looked into this for you and currently, we are aware of this issue, and we are working diligently to correct this. I know this is a stressful time and I want you to know that we take every single error seriously! Thank you for your patience. -Debra

Thanks for this.  The forms only became available on 2/15, so it makes sense that the issue wouldn't surface until then (and can now be corrected).  Hopefully it'll be a matter of days and not weeks, but I'll try again every few days, and allow at least two weeks before taking other measures.  As another poster pointed out, with hundreds of entries, manually inputting them all would be arduous and would create a very high risk of typing errors during the input process (resulting in conflicting data between the 1099 and the tax return).

Same is happening for me in that at one point there was no place  to enter Chase ID and password, but now you can enter those but get the message "This part of our site is not working right now.  Please try again later.  Thanks for you patience.".  It said this yesterday, too.  First year I've had a problem with it and am pretty unimpressed with the turnaround on fixing the problem.

On the bright side, they asked me to switch to Online version with a 20% discount while trying to return the CD to Sam's for a refund (not sure if Sam's will even accept a return on an opened CD). Alternatively, you could try your luck with the following link to get a refund on your Desktop version. I think if enough folks try to get a refund, Intuit will get off their seats and fix the problem?

How do I request a refund for my TurboTax product?
