Go to the IRS website for transcripts to see if the 2022 federal tax return is available as a transcript - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Start the 2023 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.
On the Tax Home webpage -
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
I have found my 2021 & 2020 in the document area of my 2023 but not the 2022. All were filed the same way but 2022 is saying that I didn't even file with Turbo Tax. I was on the phone with the rep yesterday and she co-browsed and saw the same thing. She said that their records do show that my taxes were filed but she was also confused by why I have no info for 2022 when I do for the prior 2 years ... she said they should all show or none of them showing.
You might have used a different account for 2022. Or....did you use the CD/download?
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

I only have one account and I used the CD for all 3 years (2020, 2021 & 2022) ... that is what was confusing for the rep and myself. She said she is also confused by the fact that it's not showing that we filed 2022 with Turbo Tax when we did and her records show it was sent & accepted by IRS.
So you used the CD/download? Does the IRS show that you filed? Does the IRS have a transcript of 2022 on record?

Yes, IRS received the filing and we got our refund but Turbo Tax doesn't show we filed with them. We used CD's for all 3 years, 2020 & 2021 are showing and accessible (even able to download past filing) but 2022 is not. It's as if Turbo Tax has lost our 2022 filing.
I’m in the same boat now and I called and she told me to use my 2021 cuz it showed filed 2/7/2022 but that was for 2021!!! if I input that information, it’s gonna kick it back, so I’m just gonna figure it out on my own apparently I hope you found a resolution to this?
Your 2021 AGI is not going to help you e-file 2023. You need your 2022 AGI from line 11 of your 2022 Form 1040.

If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2023 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2023. I had to go though about 12 screens.
If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups.
