Did you efile it first? If you didn't efile or it was rejected then yes when you mail you have to print it out and take it to the post office.
How to mail a return from the Online version
Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
It is not required, but is a good idea, to use a mailing service that will track your return or provide you with a receipt showing that the IRS got it--such as Fedex, UPS, or certified mail. It will take about 4 weeks and then you can track the status of your return at the IRS website. Federal and state must be mailed separately to different addresses. Do not mail them together.
