The IRS is saying they received my payment for 2020, but not the actual return. How do I efile it again? TurboTax says it was efiled on 4-6-2021.

I just got notified by mail last week, 1-26-2022

Please reach out to TurboTax Customer Support as your issue would be best resolved with one-on-one support. Support will be able to confirm the status of what returns were electronically filed.

Please follow the instructions in this TurboTax FAQ to contact Customer Support: What is the TurboTax phone number?

Several things:

1) If it’s the same letter my son received, it specifically stated that a paper return should be printed, signed, and mailed in.

2) But, further guidance from the IRS says to no do anything, if the return was in fact filed.  They are very far behind, and this letter was generated for a situation that rarely occurs in “normal” times.  See:

I hope hope this helps you move forward.

Please check out the notice the IRS released about these notices sent this year.  (My son received the same notice.)

Best set of luck as you move forward.

Check your e-file status here to see if your return has in fact been submitted and accepted by the IRS. If you find your return was not submitted, please see the TurboTax FAQ below for instructions on how to now submit your return:
