I am using turbotax self employed on the turbotax website. Under the Federal portion, in "Deductions & Credits", I am not able to complete the process. After "Other tax situations, it keeps taking me back to "Deductions and Credits" where the page opens with a green box saying I get the Qualified Business Income deduction (screenshot below). I keep clicking on Continue but it keeps opening the same page.
The customer support wasn't able to help me. They helped me clear the cookies and cache which didn't help.
Has anyone else experienced/fixed this problem?
Thanks
I prepared a tax return in TurboTax Online Self-Employed and reached the same screen Congrats, you get a tax break. I am able to click Continue and move on in the program.
Are you able to delete IRS Form 8995 Qualified Business Income Deduction Simplified Deduction or 8995-A Qualified Business Income Deduction Simplified Deduction? These forms compute your qualified business income (QBI) deduction.
You should be able to remove the form with the Delete a Form tool.
The form will delete but should immediately re-generate because you have the qualified business income listed on your tax return. Hopefully, the new form will not contain the error that is interfering with your tax return.
I deleted it and went through the same process. The problem persists.
Please refresh your browser and clear out your cookies. If that doesn't work, try clearing your browser's cache for ALL DATES.
Then try logging out and logging back into TurboTax. You can also try using a different browser.
The following FAQs will show you how to do it.
This one shows how to delete your cookies.
This one will help you clear your cache.
Try using a different browser. For example if you are using Chrome, try Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer.
You can also try deleting the QBI forms and then reentering them. To do this:
1. Tried a different browser, not working
2. Tried deleting the QBI forms (there are actually two of them listed). This is not letting me delete any of them.
@ZAIB To remove the QBI, in TurboTax online,
1. Sign into your account, select Take me to my return
2. Select Tax Tools, click on the drop down arrow
3. Select Tools
4. Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form
5. Select Delete next to the form 8995 and Continue with My Return
Be sure to log out and back in once you do this. Then verify it removed.

I am having the same problem. Cleared caches, deleted the form, changed the browser. Problem persists. It looks like a number of people are having the same issue. Will there be a fix so that I can complete my returns?
Are you using TurboTax Online Self-Employed, or some other version? Please clarify.
The Qualified Business Income Deduction can be generated from one of two components.
What is your source of QBI?

I am having the same issue Followed all the troubleshooting suggestions. NO LUCK went to chat she had no idea took control of my system still no luck HELP
1- using TurboTax Online Self-Employed
2- The QBI component can result from a sole proprietorship, partnership, S corporation, trust or estate. The first component would likely be reported on Schedule C, Schedule E, Schedule F or a K-1.
I am now using Turbo Tax Online Premium version. I experienced the same problem when I was using the Self Employed version. I thought that was the reason so I started all over and did not opt for Self Employed version. I am still experiencing the same problem.
I do have one 1099 NEC.
I am not asking for 'tax advice' as for the source of QBI. This appears to be a software problem. Completed all the troubleshooting that was suggested. Still the same issue.
It also appears I am not alone. Will Intuit/Turbo Tax provide a solution that works or should I be looking at alternative solutions other than using Turbo Tax to complete my returns?
Turbotax has failed to resolve this issue despite dozens of people complaining about it.
In addition, just like last year, its not letting me file my NY state return electronically because of a glitch that hasn't been fixed in the past few years.
Because of that, i woul highly suggest using a different platform like HR Block if you haven't already filed with TT. I will certainly do the same next year.
Regarding QBI, when it takes you to the same window for QBI again and again, what worked for me was to stay on that window and clicking on STATE RETURN and going through the whole state return. When that's complete, it takes you to the REVIEW screen which then lets you file.
What does one do when section 199A income comes from a Form 4797 and you have no k-1 as you are operating as a sole proprietor?
You need the Self-Employed version of TurboTax to take the Qualified Business Income deduction. Premier will allow you to enter self-employment income, but it does not allow the entry of self-employment expenses or deductions.
If you were self-employed or a small business using Schedule C, you probably qualify for the qualified business income (QBI) deduction. We'll automatically determine if you qualify and how large the deduction is.
If you’d like to know more about the qualified business income deduction and how it’s calculated, we’ve got more information about it.
