Married filing jointly. We sent back our $2800 second (?) stimulus payment in May 2021. Got letter in Jan 2022 that IRS is processing the "return". TurboTax is "insisting" that we should have gotten a payment.  How/where to I enter this "did not cash the check but returned it" event?

Thank you!   Martin

You need to indicate that you received the second stimulus, even though you sent it back. If you do not indicate in the program that you received the stimulus you will be given a credit for it on your tax return.  The program only wants to know if you received the stimulus, not what you did with it.  In your case, you did receive it.
