When you earn money from driving for Lyft or Uber, the IRS considers you self-employed. Most people can import their income from Lyft or Uber. If you'd prefer to enter your income manually, we've got instructions on how to do that.
As an Uber, Lyft, or other self-employed driver, you can deduct work-related expenses.

@rrs3711 - you MUST report your earnings and expenses. While you may not receive a 1099 - MISC from these ride share companies, you do have reports that are available that detail your earnings, expense and mileage.
