Rejection code what is e-file reject F1040-034-08

Hello

My return has been rejected 4 times with this code. I checked the tax withheld and it is correct. I only have SSA 1099 with no taxes withheld and R1099 from retirement with taxes with held. Just doesn't make any sense at all.

"F1040-034-08 - Form 1040, 'WithholdingTaxAmt' must be equal to the sum of the following: [(1) all Forms 1099-R, 'FederalIncomeTaxWithheldAmt' and (2) all 'WithholdingAmt' in [OtherWithholdingStatement] and (3) all Forms W-2, 'WithholdingAmt' and (4) all Forms W-2G, 'FederalIncomeTaxWithheldAmt' and (5) Form 8959, 'AddlMedcrRRTTaxWithholdingAmt' and (6) 'TotalAmt' in [BackupWhSchedulesK1Statement] and (7) all Forms RRB 1042-S, 'FederalIncomeTaxWithheldAmt' and (8) all Forms SSA 1042-S, ('NetTaxWithheldAmt' if it has a non-zero value, otherwise 'FederalIncomeTaxWithheldAmt')] unless Form 8958 is present in the return. When evaluating this, a tolerance of $5.00 is allowed"

If you have corrected all this the total withholding listed on your return match, the only option may be to delete the forms with withholding and re-enter them. Or you can paper file.

Here's how you can fix it:

Sign in to your account and select the Fix my return button. Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.

Note: Not all rejections will have explicit guides to fix the information. You’ll need to navigate to the program area to address the cause of the rejection.

Time-saving Tip: If what you originally entered is correct, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, a dependent that's already been claimed, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return. This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

Thank you for the reply. I will delete the forms and and re-enter them manually. If this doesn't do it them I will mail them.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Catina T1

I went back to the imported forms and I had multiple imports the same forms. Removed all but one of each and my return was accepted.

Thanks again for your help, if you hadn't recommended I redo those I would not have looked there.

Thank you

Len
