So you received a paper check instead of a direct deposit?
Civista Bank is one of 2 banks that is used when you choose to pay your TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund. Did you choose that option?
If you chose to pay your TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund, the refund goes first to a temporary account at an intermediary
bank--either Civista Bank of Sandusky, Ohio, or Green Dot Bank.
At the intermediary bank the fees are subtracted, then the rest of your
funds are sent on to your bank in a second deposit. The company that
handles that is SBTPG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group.)
Was there a problem with the direct deposit of your Federal refund? Did your bank refuse the direct deposit, and was it returned to the company that handles that (SBTPG).
If the direct deposit is refused by your bank and is returned to SBTPG, then their bank will send the refund to you in a check, less a $20 service fee.
Is that what happened to you? This is mainly a user community forum, so we won't know anything specific about your particular check. But we can tell you how to contact SBTPG or TurboTax if there are any problems.
They took out $20 and an additional fee of $39.99. This is ridiculous! So I paid TurboTax $80. Now I have to pay $20 because my bank didn’t except it. PLUS another $39.99 for “refund processing “. This is absurd!
I contacted Civista Bank and they said refund had been deposited and evidently not returned to them, yet my bank closed my account on 02/26/2019, Civista deposited funds on 02)26/2019, another says deposited in 02/27/2019. Yet STBPG says Deposited on 03/04/2019: STBPG is not contactable by phone, automated system asks you to select Operator, after a few moments call hangs up.HOW do i get a live representative at STBPG, to find out where is my refund!

Here is the only contact info for SBTPG I have. Try early in the morning. Hours are listed on this page:

Ask your bank what they did with it. If your bank refused the direct deposit, they will send it back to SBTPG's bank that sent it, who will issue you a check in the mail. I don't know how long it will take to get back to SBTPG's bank.
Here's how to phone TurboTax Support to see if they can advise you on reaching SBTPG.

MY REFUND WAS LESS THAN I EXPECTED
There can be a number of reasons why your refund was less than the amount you expected. First of all, look carefully at your actual tax returns. There is sometimes confusion about the amount of refund to expect when users misinterpret the “summary” they saw in TurboTax. The amount of your refund is on your tax return. Federal refund line 20 on Form 1040 State tax forms are all different so we cannot tell you what line to look at on your state form. BUT it is important to actually LOOK at your tax return forms yourself and see the amounts of your tax refunds and/or tax due. A lot of confusion would be avoided by doing that.
TurboTax does not receive feedback from the IRS regarding money that was offset from your refund. If you owed back taxes, child support, student loan debt, etc. you will receive a letter of explanation from the IRS in several weeks. The WMR site will contain a message regarding your offset. It is also possible that the IRS caught a mistake you made and reduced your refund.
It is also possible that your state reduced your refund for debts owed in your state—if the state reduced your state refund you will receive a letter from the state.

Be aware also that your Federal refund and state refund do NOT come together. Federal and state tax returns are processed by two completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come first,
Did you choose to have TT fees deducted from your Federal refund? (Remember that if you did that, you also agreed to an extra refund processing fee of $39.99)

I just received a check from Civista Bank. The last mention of it appears to be from 2019 in conjunction with a different bank? Is this a legit payment?
I realized after I had submitted my taxes I put in the wrong routing number so was expecting either a notification to correct it or something from turbotax. I just don't want to open myself up to a fraudulent payment.
@tleewhit81 Were you having the fees deducted from your refund? Yes that is the bank Turbo Tax uses to take the fees out. If they couldn't deposit it to your bank account they mail you a check. There might be another fee to mail the check.
Yes I did. Thanks! Was worried since it didn't say anything about turbotax in the letter.
Where is my check, I don't have direct deposit so my check should have come to my address [address removed]. I was giving a track number the number is [removed]
I did not have direct deposit so I should have received a paper check
I was given a tracking number to track my check the tracking number IS NOT MY PHONE NUMBER THE TRACKING NUMBER IS 044I-1119-1124-659
@Zelia55 If you are referring to your refund check, you will have to contact the IRS. Turbo Tax will not know the status of anyone's refund. If the IRS website says processing, this means they are working on it.
