This rejection could be related to your Health Insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

This rejection happens when your return is missing Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement. The IRS compares the information you enter on your return with what they have in their database.

Find your 1095-A form. If you don't have it, sign in to your healthcare.gov account and download it.

Forms are mailed out at the end of January. If you have your 1095-A, please revisit Deductions & Credits section, scroll down to Medical and select Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A). Answer the questions and continue through to enter the details from your Form 1095-A. When you're done, continue through to refile your return.

If you are sure that no one on the return was on an ACA Marketplace plan, you can follow the steps below to certify that you did not receive a 1095-A:

  1. 1. Select Federal from the left menu, then Deductions & Credits.
  2. 2. Navigate to Medical and select Show More.
  3. 3. Select Start or Revisit next to Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A).
  4.  4. You'll be asked if you received a 1095-A. Select No.
  5. 5. Select the statement indicating you did not receive a 1095-A. By selecting this certification, you will be able to e-file your return and meet the requirements of reject code F8962-070.
  6. 6. Select File from the left menu and continue through the process to resubmit your return.
