Kentucky Taxes

My mother cased in what was left of her retirement account and paid Federal and State Taxes.  She received a for 1099-R.  According to Turbo Tax the state of Kentucky returning all state taxes paid. Sorry for doubting but is this corret?

    Maybe. KY does have a  pension exclusion amount. The amount is the LESSER of your full retirement or $31,110 per person.

     

    Here is an example:

    Person A:  pension of $15,600 gets exemption of $15,600.

    Person B:  pension of $55,000 gets exemption of $31,110.
