Maybe, Turbo Tax has sent out emails if you need to amend. What is the error?

I received same notice. However, my "issue" is "September 2021 Carryover Issue."
I had the exact same email. Unfortunately, the linked instructions are on how to file an amended return IF you were impacted by the error. It does not explain how to determine if you were impacted by the error and need to file an amended return or what exactly needs to be changed in the amended return. So, how do we figure that out?
OK. Shortly after posting my last comment, I decided to take the plunge and click on "Amend my Return" in Turbo tax, and one of the first screens asks "Why are you amending your return" and one of the options says "TurboTax Sent me an email" - if you click on that and answer the questions, it will walk you through the process.
Before you open the return save a PDF & .taxfile for your records then open the return using the amendment process to allow the correction to be made. Then see if there is a difference ... if you need further assistance contact TT support as directed : https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/amend-tax-return/help/how-do-i-amend-my-return-to-fix-the-turbotax...
i doubt it. check with the irs. i don't think they do that. alternatively, you could respond and if they ask for ANY information, it's a scam and report it to irs

IRS couldn't confirm Sharon's identity (my wife, filed jointly) . They want her AGI as shown on our 1040, line 8:b. That an "ours", not just hers. Is that what I use?
Correct ... the AGI on a joint return is the same number for you both.
I received the same message, I received a refund, now they say I owe $3500. They changed my taxable income to be much higher than it is so that I need to pay more tax. I have a copy of my original tax form for 2020 with the correct numbers. They wanted to know how I wanted to pay for this and they would take care of it.
I'm not sure what to do now I don't trust Turbo tax to fix it. I may call the Attorney General of my state and ask them.
The email came from [email address removed] they put this phone number[phone number removed]
From [email address removed]
I posted the scam email and phone number on here and turbo tax has removed it.....WHY?
Here it is again, [email address removed] [phone number removed]
This makes me even more suspicious of turbo tax. If I don't get some answers I'm calling the Attorney General.
I never respond directly to emails like that. Never click on a link. Go to the "claimed" source online and log in and see if there is really an issue. 99% of the time its not there. These are usually phishing attempts to get you to click a link an infect your computer.
@imhoff911 The filter in the user forum routinely removes email addresses and phone numbers to protect the users who post here. There are scammers and identity thieves who look for such information. The community is trying to protect its users by removing phone numbers and email addresses so that they will not be contacted by criminals. This is a public web site. The filter cannot differentiate between the email and phone number you posted and information that could cause harm to a hapless user.
Is this letter from TurboTax? is it legit? What do we do to get the correct 2020 tax form fixed?
