It depends. You may continue to receive marketing emails from another source after you use TurboTax. If the emails you are receiving indicate that your return was rejected, follow the instructions in the email to correct the return. See this help article for more information about rejected returns.

After you e-file your return, it's considered "pending". After the IRS processes your return, it'll either be accepted or rejected.

Once you submit your return in TurboTax Online, you'll see its status on the Tax Home screen of your account. We'll also send you emails letting you know when your e-file status changes.

You can visit the IRS Where's My Refund? site to check if your e-filed return has been received.

If you don't see an e-file status for your return in TurboTax Online, you may have filed your return in a different account or using a different method.

If you used TurboTax Desktop:

  1. Select File.
  2. Select Check E-file status.

The above information is also available in this help article.

You may have another account.  How to view all your accounts

It's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used
