Which Pin number are you referring to?
For assistance with locating your AGI, please see the TurboTax FAQ: How do I find last year's AGI?
I know my AGI. What i don't know is my pin number from last year. The IRS keeps rejecting my 2919 return because my wifes pin # did not match last years pin #
The IRS has eliminated the use of a PIN to e-file your 2019 tax return. To verify your identity for e-filing will use last year's adjusted gross income (AGI) as your PIN. You will use last year's AGI for yourself and for your wife you do not use a "pin #".

You can get a copy of your 2018 tax return, from TurboTax it will have your AGI. Follow these steps to get a copy of your prior-year tax return.
Sign in to TurboTax making sure you're using the same TurboTax account (with the same username) as in prior years.

The PIN used when I filed my return. How do I know the correct one is being used this year? I've downloaded last years tax return from the IRS and AGI numbers match so I assume the PIN is the cause for my return being rejected.
Why does the IRS say the reason for rejecting is PIN or AGI doesn't match. I verified AGI is same.
If you have an account with the IRS you can download your return directly from them which is what they have on file. If you don't have account you can create one for free.
The Intuit Experts answer is incorrect. 2019 TurboTax keeps asking for e-file PIN. I have input and verified my last years AGI but the PIN is still required. I do not remember last years PIN. Please help me get past this or it will be the last time I use TurboTax.
Thank you.

You can find your 2018 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by:
Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number. If you:
Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.
This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.
How do I find my pin from last year. The security pin that I used last year to prove it was me
I have someone completing my taxes this year. I need my PIN. I didn't write it down.
The 5 digit self-select PIN you used to e-file last year is on the Federal Information worksheet on Page 4 of the worksheet. When you view or print your 2019 tax return make sure you check to Include Government and TurboTax Worksheets (optional), then select View or Print Forms.
My 2020 income taxes have been rejected 2x today due to incoreect pin number even after verifying on 2019 taxes. I have been trying to reach a turbotax specialist , have 2 case umbers no success. Can you give me direction on another avenue to get last year's pin? Thank you.
TT has refused to efile my return for two years in a row. Since you can just make up any pin, it's TT not your return in all likelihood at fault.
I am referring our expert BillM223's response for your answer:
"There are two pins: the IP PIN (6 digit) and the e-file pin (5 digits).
If you mean the IP PIN, it was mailed to you in December by the IRS.
Please see the following links at the IRS website:
If you mean the e-file pin, please note that the IRS is moving away from these and would rather you use your 2019 AGI (Adjusted Gross Income) from line 8b on your 2019 1040."

How do I find out what PIN I used last year to electronically file my return.?
If you are referring to the e-filing pin, the IRS discontinued the e-file pin. You will now just need to know your AGI.
Thank you. My Turbotax program insists that I input a 5-digit pin. So I can randomly select a new pin each year?
Hi,
This may not be of help to you, but to specifically answer your question, if you did not take a screen shot of the PIN page, or write it down, you may not have access to your PIN. I'm sorry to have bad new on that, but that has been my experience. This happened to me many years ago in the program. The whole point of the PIN was so that it is a separate 'key' to associate with the return, keeping it 'personal'.
There is an answer further up the thread that makes reference to page 4 of the Federal Information Worksheet. That answer is correct. The PIN is located there, but you have to remember to save or print a PDF of ALL FORMS AND WORKSHEETS. Or retain the ability to open the original TurboTax file with that year's program. Sometimes people don't save the entire set of forms and worksheets. It won't get saved with a partial PDF printing.
That is why when that page comes up in the program each year, I always take a screen shot using the snipping tool or another similar app. That way I have record of it in case it is required.
Best Regards,
Yes, when you are on the screen that is asking for a 5 digit pin, you can makeup a new one.
