How can I find the amount I owe for taxes if I forgot whether I paid or not?

You can look at your tax returns to see how much you owed.  Federal tax owed is on line 23 of your Form 1040.  We do not know if you have a state tax due--and every state form is different so you will have to look it over yourself to see if you owe and how much.

As for whether you paid---your only proof that you paid is your own bank/credit card record.  TurboTax never knows how when or even if you paid your tax due.

If you overpay, IRS computers will discover that and send you a refund.
