Last year (2021) I filed my taxes using the desktop version of Turbotax premier, which included one state. That state was IL. I went to look at some information this year's filing and I now get an error 190 message. When I ask how to resolve it basically tells me to pay to download the state that I already have when I filed last year. To do that would cost me money for no reason. I tried to call and talk to a person but get the **bleep** automated attendent. I do not want to talk to someone about my taxes but rather I want what I paid for to work. How do I do that?
I just figured out the solution. After trying many different ways to deleted a the file ilifs.1pe (the Illinois file) I found it was corrupt and would not delete. I finally ran a chkdsk /f/r/x and found a section of my hard drive was corrupt. Apparently this is where the ilifs.1pe file was. The chkdsk deleted the file and allowed me to reinstall the Turbotax with a repair option. I then ran the updates and it downloaded Illinois in the updates. I can now get into the my tax files from 2021.

Thanks for the effort, but I already reviewed what you provided. As I stated my original version included one state. Now it is asking me to pay for a state instead of recognizing that I already have the state as part of what I bought. It will not even let me look at the federal unless I buy the state.
