E-file "Failed-Validation"

When I try to e-file I get a "Failed Validation" message.  Also said there is an update for this error - go to the online menu and check for updates and that this is a technical glitch.

 

There are no updates available that I can find.  Updates are usually available when I sign into the tax program.   I haven't had any updates in several days.  

 

Please help me finish my tax return.

Which version are you using?  Windows or Mac?  

 

You may want to try to manually update your software.

I followed the "fix" steps for manually updating and continued to get the same error.  As such, it is not transmitting my returns!  Please help!

What is the error you are currently getting, as well as which part of the return are you getting the error? @thewehrman

I need the manual update for 2021 Home and Business as I am having the same problems as everyone else on multiple posts.

Can you supply a link to that?

what elsa I can do to resolve this problom ASAP, since I already paid for the E-file fee..

If Turbo tax can't help to submit the E-file, how can I get the refund??

Is 2021 Home and Business considered personal or business for the patches? 

I have both 2021 Home and Business and TurboTax business.  When I use the link below it updated Turbotax Business not 2021 Home and Business.

Can you give me a link to 2021 Home and Business?

When I try the patch you sent me to, I get the following:

" You don't have Turbo Tax 2021 installed

Install Turbo Tax 2021 first then rerun the setup for superpatch"

Well, I do have TT home and business 2021 installed and it still does not work.

Is there a solution to this problem?

I bought the TT on Costco.com and downloaded the TT from their link. I called help center [phone number removed]. A representative helped me uninstall the TT and install the TT from the representative, it resolved the problem and E-file successfully. So Suggest you call them immediately, due date is coming soon~~

I called the 800# and they said the only option is to uninstall and reinstall, I only installed it once and now I get an error that says That License Code has already been associate with this account Please Check the Account for a different License Code

uh oh this is  not good no one on the 800# is able to help and I don't see any solutions in the community very sad I have been using TurboTax for 9 years and have never had a problem and this year I have had 3 different glitches in the software

The representative emailed me a new code after reinstalling for free. Call them again maybe.

Thank you, the first representative said they are not authorized to do that I asked to speak to a manager then they gave me a gentleman who totally knew what he was doing and he gave me the code we reinstalled TurboTax and he stayed with me and we did the transmit function and it went through with No Errors I was on the phone with Support from start to finish and 4 different people just shy of 4 hours, the last gentlemen apologized that I had to go through so many people to get the glitch fixed....but it did reestablished my faith in TurboTax

This is so frustrating. I have never had issues transmitting my taxes until this year. I had experienced install issues in the beginning and now this! I have used turbo tax for 20 years.  I have deleted cookies, restarted, waited 24 hours and still receive this message

It sounds like you are using the online version of Turbo Tax vs the desktop which is what the OP's question was regarding; what is the specific error message that you are receiving? @Jenlarrabee.

I purchased deluxe online. 

I ended up uninstall and reinstall, now if appears I don’t have the state option now. 

im running install again but I don’t have time for this…terrible experience this year.

Call the support. They can remote to your computer and assist the installation, it just take me an hour to resolve this problem and the representative is so nice. Step by step. I think the online purchases installation has errors, I installed the software from the representative, it resolved this problem.

Sad this year they definitely have different programmers it's not the good old TurboTax like we were used to

no it's definitely desk top the 4th TurboTax Support person admitted that they are having a ton of issues with the desk top version, my original error back in March the tech support person said to not use the CD because it does not contain the updates to fix the glitches they told me to see if Costco will let me return it, so I went back to Costco they were nice enough let me return it I then bought another Desk Top version and then did the On Line install using the new license #, went well for a while had other errors, then got this Failed Validation error.

Kind of frustrating especially to find out that the TurboTax support person was supposed to just give me a new licence # over the phone vs making me go and return and buy a new one at Costco.

I've been using turbotax for years and this is the first time FAILED VALIDATION came up. I paid for e-filing but but the system wouldn't let me send. I'm using a Mac with Ventura 13.2. 

If I file by mail how to I my back?
