Quickbooks data can only be imported from a DESKTOP version into TurboTax Business.  So if you are using Quickbooks Online, your data would have to be exported to a Desktop version before it could be imported into TurboTax Business.

Here is more information about transferring Quickbooks data to TurboTax Business:

This is such bull**bleep** that we can't use QB online and download straight into TT.   Turbo tax you just lost your stickiness with me.    Will go another route next year.

You can send your tax information from QuickBooks Self-Employed to TurboTax Self-Employed or TurboTax Live Self-Employed from a web browser or the QuickBooks Self-Employed Mobile app.

Please see the below TurboTax FAQ for additional information and instructions:

I am looking to use quickbooks self-employed for creating invoices and tracking expenses.

However I want to keep using TurboTax PC WINDOWS DOWNLOAD version.

Can I import that quickbooks self-employed data info into the PC version TurboTax?

No.  QuickBooks Self Employed version only imports to Turbo Tax Online Self Employed version.

Are you wanting to import QuickBooks to Windows Home & Business program or the separate Business program?

You can only import Quickbooks to Turbo Tax Business if Quickbooks is installed on the same Windows computer.  So you can not import from QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks for Mac.

Yes, absolutely infuriating. It would have been nice to know that before I paid for the TT download.

Just thought of something.  You could import it to the online Self Employed version and them move your return to the Desktop program to finish and file.

You can move your Online file to the Desktop program and continue without paying for Online or needing to reenter your info.

To continue in the desktop version see this…….

After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return .tax file is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW).
