You may be accessing the wrong account on your desktop. If you need to recover your account, you can do so through the Account Recovery page. You will need to provide either your phone number(recommended) or email address. If you’re still unable to recover your account, select Try something else on the Account Recovery page. We’ll ask additional questions to verify your identity. Please refer to the following link to recover your account. Account Recovery Request for your TurboTax Account.
If you are having trouble accessing your TurboTax account, please try the following suggestions:
Please see this TurboTax Help Article for more information.

I need my 2018 AGI so I can file my 2019 but can not pull it up . I did it with Turbo tax so why are they not tied together ?Please help
Are you logging in with the same account you used to complete your 2018 return? If so, try clicking on Documents from the menu on the left. Choose 2018 and view the PDF of your return. AGI will be found on line 7 of your 1040.
If you do not have access to the account or to the return, you can try getting a transcript from the IRS:
I have updated my info many times i got in yesterday on my phone but later tried from computer and did not sign in
@Iriswilner Before logging in to TurboTax on your computer, try clearing the cache and cookies of your browser first and then trying to log in using the same information that you used to successfully sign in on your phone.
It says it cannot find my information or that there is no ID with that name.

You have to sign onto your online account using the exact same User ID you used to create the online account.
Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one). Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.
Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the User ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery
If none of the user ID's received will access your account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "
Try something else
"
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
To access your prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

I had to create a new account due to all of my information was under my son's name when I filed his taxes last year. I need to complete my 2020 taxes as I am behind. I have at least three UserIDs and PWs and cannot get into anything but my son's tax information. I don't know what to do. I did purchase the Deluxe package so that I could do the 2020 Federal taxes. Why is it that I cannot log in?
@Crodeb22 You cannot use the online program to prepare or file a 2020 return. Online can only be used for a 2021 return. If you still need to do 2020 you will need to use the CD/download on a full PC or Mac, and the return will have to be filed by mail.
You do not "log on" to use the desktop software. You download it to your own hard drive, open the program and use it from your own computer.
Online preparation and e-filing for 2018 and 2019 and 2020 is permanently closed.
To file a return for a prior tax year
If you need to prepare a return for 2018, 2019 or 2020 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign, and mail the return(s)

You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.
Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
Note: The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac. It cannot be used on a mobile device.
I am using desktop version and created a TT account to ask questions but I have to create new account every year. Whenever I type in my password, it just won't recorgnize me, after I entered the code from TT it then said needed to double check my ID. Then come a page with 2 options. 'Learn more' and 'contact customer support'. Customer support hold forever. This happen every year. Fortunately I didn't use online version. I wonder why so difficult to reset password?
You can try recovering your account with your phone number. All you need is the account information that was used to set up your account. If you don't have that information or you need assistance getting back into your account, you can follow the steps in this TurboTax FAQ here.
