Can't install from CD or Download to Windows 10 64 bit. Stops on "installing" window and bar never moves.

Purchased Premier.  Turned off firewall and Windows defender, but still cannot install.

I suggest you try clearing the cache on your computer, then reboot it and try to install your TurboTax again. Here is a link that will tell you how:

I gave that a try.  I also switched to Firefox but had the same issue.  I tried logging in as super administrator. Same problem.  This is a new PC and I noticed TurboTax wanted.net 4.5.2 installed.  My system would not let me install it as I have a newer version installed already. Could that be an issue?  Any way to force windows to install an older version of .net?  Thanks for the help.  Used TurboTax for years and never had this much trouble installing it.

I couldn't install my TT Deluxe 2021 software until I saw a post from 2019 that fixed my problem.  I kept getting a message that the installer was not responding and I couldn't get past it.   The solution turned out to be to change the screen resolution down to 800x600.  I don't know why it worked, but I was able to successfully install the software.  The original link is:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/activation-2019/00/1740866

It just says"

  • change your resolution to 800 x 600 (start>setting >system resolution. once it's been changed, your screen size will look very big.

    REMEMBER your initial resolution setting

    !
  • launch TT and the activation screen should launch.  copy / paste in your activation code. you should get the 'all set' green check mark
  • change your resolution back to what is was originally. "

Hope this helps!

Sorry for the delay in responding.  Turns out my problem was that I needed to install Windows 10 update 21H2.  There was an update in this feature pack for .net 4.5.x so that may have been the real issue.  Only my guess.  Prior to installing 21H2 install progress bar on install page never started to move.  Maybe this information will help someone else.  Thank  you.
