not following why you are asking or what you really mean. Can you add more detail to the question?

I heard because of the covid bill that we could use our 2019 income for our 2020 taxes. I get to claim both my kids on taxes this year but I don’t qualify for the child tax (2k) credit. Because I was out of work from March until October and don’t meet the income requirements to claim that credit. Significantly reducing my income because since mid-2019 I’ve been self employed (doordashing) if I was able to use my 2019 AGI that would be higher than my 2020 AGI and I’d be able to get a bigger refund. I’m not sure I just heard that I could to that because of wording in the latest covid bill

okay - you are correct

just go through the Turbo Tax interview and when you get to EITC it is going to ask for 2019 AGI.... if it gives you a better outcome it will use it.

@Critter-3 @VolvoGirl - one of you had nice screen shots showing this - can you please reply?
