When IRS allows 7004 to be filed electronically, no where it is explained why TurboTax does not allow 7004 eFile.
No. This form cannot be e-filed.
However, it may be prepared in TurboTax Business and mailed in, or you may print from the IRS website here: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f7004.pdf
Instructions for Form 7004 are found here: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i7004.pdf
Please see TurboTax FAQ "How do I file an extension for a corporation, partnership, trust, or estate (Form 7004)?" below for more information:
is electronic filing for 7004 available on the 2021 software? thanks.
No. Form 7004 cannot be e-filed with TurboTax Business @allen67.
For more info on filing your extension see How do I file Form 7004, Application for Automatic Extension of Time To File Certain Business Income Tax, Information, and Other Returns?
Thanks Ernie. But apparently we can do this for Indiv Form 4868 with TurboTax, correct?
No, you cannot e-file your For 4868 through TurboTax either. However, you can use the IRS Free File service online at Free File Fillable Forms to file your Application for Automatic Extension of Time.
The biggest glaring question is WHY NOT? I pay all this money for turbotax software, and yet I have to go to another vendor in order to efile my extensions? Makes no sense. The ability to efile extensions exists, so why hasn't Turbotax adopted a way for us to do so?
