How do I refiile my CA state taxes

I have a letter from the CA Frachise Tax board saying that I didn;t file for the year 2019. I thought that I did file. How can I refile or file for 2019— urgent.

All you can do is mail in a signed paper copy of the return and if you can find the email acceptance or the history report  for the state then send that as well.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

Your return's electronic filing status history records all e-filing activity related to the return, including the Electronic Postmark. You can print it out if needed.

TurboTax Online

https://shop.turbotax.intuit.com/efile/efile_status_lookup.jsp  -- enter the Social Security number of the first taxpayer on the return and the ZIP code to retrieve your filing status history.

TurboTax CD/Download software

(Windows) From the TurboTax File menu, select Electronic Filing > Show Electronic Filing Status History.
(Mac) From the TurboTax File menu, select Check E-Filing Status.

In 2019, Turbo Tax did not efile my state return (Federal only} I sent  state in via snail mail.  I can't find my copy, so I need to efile my state taxes for 2019. How do I get Turbo Tax to do this?

You cannot e-file a 2019 return.   The only way to file a 2019 return is by mail.    If you did not file 2019 or it went to the wrong address, etc. the only way to file it now is to print it, sign it in ink and mail it to the state

You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

When you mail it---use a mailing service that will track it so you know the state received it.  Make sure you are using the correct mailing address for your state.
